Implementation Controls

July 16, 2015

Today we launched a new feature in the Common Controls Hub: Implementation Controls.

Implementation Controls non-mandated Common Control(s) that are children of Mandated Controls.

More formally, Implementation Controls:

  • Provide details not found in Mandated Controls regarding how to carry out the Mandated Control
  • Are not mandated by any of the Authority Documents the organization has chosen to employ
  • Do not have to be assigned for accountability
  • Do not have to be tracked to completion

You can use Implementation Controls as a starting point when trying to figure out how to implement a Common Control that an Authority Document has mandated or to provide context.

These additional Common Controls appear automatically in the workspace view and in any build generated after today.

In the Workspace view, they appear under mandated Common Controls as plain text:

In Builds that you generate, there is now an extra spreadsheet, UCF Controls+.xlsx:

This spreadsheet contains all mandated, implied and implementation Common Controls for the Authority Document list you generated the build from:

This feature can be turned off under the Advanced Settings tab in Settings.
